<p>Neil McEvoy was a founding director of Consult Hyperion in 1986 and has been CEO since 1989. He has specialised in the design and implementation of high-security distributed systems, especially for financial transactions, identity systems and mass-transit fare collection. He has specified and procured secure networks for wholesale financial systems handling hundreds of billions of pounds daily as well as consumer facing contact and contactless smartcard and NFC-enabled retail payment solutions deployed in Europe, the Americas and Africa. He has led the Consult Hyperion project teams that specified identification, entitlement and travel card systems for government agencies in every continent.</p> <p>Neil graduated from Oxford in 1980 joining Logica, where he specialised in spacecraft telemetry systems, image data compression, network management and cryptography. In 1982 he was responsible for the first acknowledged implementation of a public key cryptosystem in Europe, for use over a satellite-based network.</p>
