Prof. Meng Ni received his PhD from The University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 2007. He did postdoc at HKU for 2 years and joined The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) in 2009 as an Assistant Professor. He is currently a Chair Professor, a Head of Department, and an Associate Dean (Research) at PolyU. He is a Fellow of Hong Kong Institute for Engineers (HKIE), a Humboldt Fellow, and an RGC Senior Research Fellow. His research focuses on high temperature fuel cells for clean power generation, electrolyzers for green hydrogen production, and rechargeable batteries for electrical energy storage. He is a Highly Cited Researcher in 2025 and a World's Top 2% Scientist, according to Stanford University study. He is a Co-Editor-in-Chief of Energy Reviews (Elsevier), a senior of Sustainable Energy Technologies and Assessments (Elsevier), and an Associate Editor of 3 academic journals, including The Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering (Wiley), Energy Storage (Wiley), and International Journal of Green Energy (Taylor & Francis). Prof. Ni is an active reviewer for over 80 academic journals including Science, Nature Energy, Nature Communications, Joule, Advanced Materials, etc.
