Maya Ghazal is a pioneering pilot and celebrated Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency. She is the first female Syrian refugee pilot. She fled Damascus at age 16, taught herself English, obtained her UK pilot's license, and graduated with a degree in aviation engineering and pilot studies from Brunel University London in 2021.
