Matt Junak, P.E., is an Associate Fellow, Associate Vice President, and ITS Practice Lead on HNTB’s Digital Infrastructure Solutions team. He has focused his 20+ year career on planning, designing, and deploying technology based solutions for both public and private sector clients to solve their unique transportation challenges. From fiber optic, licensed, and unlicensed communications networks, to Connected and Automated Vehicle test facility design and hands-on field integration, Matt has innovated unique solutions for real-time arrival systems, freight mobility and truck parking availability, connected vehicle pilots, Mobility-as-a-Service solutions, autonomous shuttles, and everything related to transportation technology in between. Matt is an active member of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) and Intelligent Transportation Systems America (ITSA) communities, serving on committees for ITS, Active Traffic Management, Mobility on Demand, Emerging Technology, and Digital Twins. Matt has a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering and Masters in Transportation from Michigan State University, and is a Registered Professional Engineer.
