Matheus A. Castro, MD, is a clinical geneticist specialized in neurogenetics. Dr. Castro earned his medical degree with academic honors from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. He completed his medical genetics residency at the University of São Paulo, where he pursued a fellowship in Neurogenetics and Inborn Errors of Metabolism.<br><br>Dr. Castro holds certification from the Brazilian Society of Medical Genetics and Genomics, having been awarded the prestigious Dr. João Monteiro de Pina Neto Prize for achieving the highest score on the certification exam. He is a medical geneticist at Hospital das Clínicas of the University of São Paulo (HCFMUSP) and the Human Genome and Stem Cell Research Center at the University of São Paulo. Dr. Castro is also a member of the clinical staff at Hospital Sírio-Libanês in São Paulo, and the coordinator of the Neurogenetics Committee of the Brazilian Society of Medical Genetics and Genomics.
