Marios Xanthidis is a Research Scientist at SINTEF Ocean's focusing on marine autonomy. He earned his Ph.D. on autonomous 3D underwater navigation and active perception from the University of South Carolina in 2022. In 2020, he served as a Research Fellow at CMRE of NATO-STO. His work centers on ensuring robust autonomy of complex systems executing complex tasks in challenging environments, with a strong focus towards the underwater domain, including motion planning for bio-inspired AUVs, underwater 3D sensing, and underwater autonomous operations in exposed dynamic and uncertain environments.
