Marie Zezůlková is the Executive Director of BVV Living Lab, where she connects the academic, public, and private sectors in testing innovations in smart cities, smart mobility, sensor technologies, and energy solutions for real-world environments. After completing her studies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at VUT Brno and the Institut Français d’Urbanisme in Paris, she began her professional career at the Brno City Hall as Head of the Mayor’s Strategy Office. She later moved to Prague, where she served as Director of the National Energy Savings Centre within ČEZ ESCO. She also held the position of Director of the Department of Regional Policy at the Ministry for Regional Development of the Czech Republic. She considers herself both an innovator and a strategist and was involved in the creation of the innovation ecosystem of the South Moravian Region. She has long been engaged in strategic planning and the development of innovative projects and is an active member of expert platforms and advisory teams, including academia, and has served for many years as Vice-Chair of the Administrative Board of Masaryk University. She is also known as the author of the slogan “Žít Brno”.
