Magnús Árni Skúlason is the Founder and Chairman of Reykjavík Economics, bringing over two decades of expertise in real estate finance, strategic advisory, and renewable energy. A Cambridge University graduate, he advises international banks and investment firms on complex project development and global economic trends. Magnús has held pivotal governance roles during significant economic shifts, notably serving on the Supervisory Board of the Central Bank of Iceland following the 2008 financial crisis. He currently serves as a Director of the French-Icelandic Chamber of Commerce and is the President of the Icelandic Oxbridge Society. A recognized authority on real estate markets, Magnús previously served as an Associate Professor and Director of the Centre for Housing & Property Research at Bifröst University. He is a veteran contributor to the European Mortgage Federation’s annual Hypostat report and a contributor to Milestones in European Housing Finance (Wiley). A seasoned international speaker, he has lectured at the University of Iceland and prestigious institutions such as Lehigh University on the intersection of financial crises and real estate dynamics.
