Lamia El-Meligui currently serves as the Director of Local Policies and Urban Economic Development Program at UN-HABITAT Egypt, where she develops inclusive development policies, enhances local governance, and supports communities—especially women—in socioeconomic development. With over 15 years of experience in international development and economic cooperation, she has worked with organizations including UNIDO, SECO, DFID, USAID, and the European Union. At GIZ, she managed market access and business development, supporting rural women and smallholder farmers in sustainable value chains. Lamia supports women entrepreneurs through USAID's Women Entrepreneurs Network (WEN) in green and blue economy projects. She has spoken at global events including Afreximbank Annual Meetings, WFTO Conference, and the AIM Investment Conference in Abu Dhabi. Lamia holds a Master's degree in International Relations from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, Italy.
