Kornelia Semmelink is the Senior Director of Content Distribution and Licensing in Africa at the NBA. A founding member of the NBA’s business on the continent, she has played a pivotal role in expanding the league’s footprint across Africa. She also led TV production and licensing for the Basketball Africa League (BAL) during its first two seasons, helping shape the broadcast strategy for the NBA’s fifth league. Kornelia brings over a decade of experience in sports media, rights management, and strategic partnerships. She holds a BCom in Economics from the University of Cape Town and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Communications, Media, and Public Relations from the University of Leicester. Passionate about sport as a tool for growth and development, Kornelia continues to champion the power of basketball to connect global audiences and unlock commercial opportunities across the African continent. Her work has been instrumental in growing the NBA’s presence and influence in Africa.
