José is Head of Unit at EIF’s Infrastructure Funds investment team, taking responsibility for investments in infrastructure funds across Europe and representing EIF in a number of Advisory Boards. He joined the EIF in 2010 as Resident Representative / Office Head in Madrid and managed different fund-of-funds initiatives dedicated to Iberia, such as Neotec Capital Riesgo, EAF Spain and PVCi. Before joining the EIF, José worked in London as an Associate at Lehman Brothers and later at Nomura International. Prior to that, he held different engineering roles in Portugal, not only as a designer of steel and hydraulic structures but also as a construction site manager. He holds a degree in civil engineering from the Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon and an MBA from IESE Business School in Barcelona. He likes jazz and classical piano, general sports aviation, road cycling and golf.
