As Program Manager for Families in Nature (FIN), Jo Joly brings her background in ecology, conservation psychology, and anthrozoology to create inclusive, immersive programs that connect people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds with the natural world. She designs and leads hands-on experiences in camping, wilderness skills, conservation education, and nature connection, removing barriers to outdoor engagement through the creation of accessible curriculum and relationship-based facilitation. Through her work, she fosters deep nature connection and builds resilient, informed communities by helping families cultivate confidence, knowledge, and belonging in outdoor spaces. Jo is a certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide, Community Song Leader, NASP Archery Instructor, and more. She holds a Master’s in Anthrozoology and a BS in Animal Behavior, Ecology, and Conservation from Canisius University. Jo also serves as a Commissioner for Education and Communication with the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN CEC), where she supports global efforts to advance inclusive environmental stewardship.
