Prof Swartenbroekx is Director of the pharmacy and logistic services in the University Hospital of Antwerp and is a member of the board of the hospital. He is a Professor at the University of Antwerp where he teaches the course “organisation and management in the hospital pharmacy”, and is a coordinator for the course “implants and medical devices”. He received a master’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences and a master after master degree in hospital pharmacy at the University of Leuven. He became a licensed hospital pharmacist in 1987. He attended a postgraduate program health economics at the EHSAL Management School in Brussels in 2009. Prof. Swartenbroekx has interest in the organisation of the hospital pharmacy, the automation of drug distribution, purchase and quality and safety.
