Jim is the Pressurized Water Reactor Owners Group (PWROG) Chairman, contributing over 34 years of nuclear power leadership to significant industry initiatives. Jim has maintained an active Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license for over 20 years and has international and domestic PWR experience. His background in engineering, risk, licensing and operations supports the skills necessary to lead this diverse group. Jim started his career in the Nuclear Service Division at Westinghouse as a lead engineer, working on the Maintenance Rule industry implementation and designing engineering on the AP 600. At American Electric Power, Jim served as an SRO at D.C Cook, where he implemented several regulatory and operational improvement programs. Currently, Jim is the operations services and support manager at Byron Nuclear Power Station, where he oversees regulatory issues, license maintenance, EOP, corrective actions, and Ops work control. Jim developed and led the RICT Byron implementation, the Byron FLEX program, Constellation Observation program, and the Byron significant risk beneficial procedure improvement program. His multi-site experience in various departments has been a key contributor towards successful site leadership with an industry perspective. Jim has demonstrated a record of successful leadership and strengths that include communication and collaboration. Jim holds nuclear engineering degrees from the University of Illinois and conducted post-graduate work at Penn State University.
