Jessica is a project and structured finance lawyer based in London. She focuses on advising parties on the financing of energy and infrastructure projects in emerging markets. Jessica advises commercial lenders, development finance institutions, sponsors and governments on the various forms of lending, including advising on complex multisourced financings. She has extensive experience in the battery energy storage sector and has recently advised on award-winning deals across Africa. Norton Rose Fulbright has significant experience advising on battery energy storage systems (BESS) across emerging markets, supporting projects at all stages of the lifecycle – from early‑stage development and regulatory structuring through to financing, construction and operation. Drawing on its global experience, the firm advises sponsors, lenders, developers and governments on standalone and co‑located storage projects, including those paired with renewables to enhance grid stability and energy security. Recently, the team advised on Egypt’s first utility-scale solar and battery storage project, Project Obelisk. The team also advised FMO and other lenders on the financing in connection with the construction and development of a solar power project and battery energy storage system in Egypt, Abydos II. This project was awarded African Deal of the Year by Project Finance International 2026.
