Jean Viard is a sociologist and associate research director at CEVIPOF-CNRS (Center for Political Research at Sciences Po). He holds a postgraduate degree in economics (Aix-en-Provence) and a doctorate in sociology from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales.
