Professor Jared Cole is Director of the RMIT Applied Quantum Technologies research centre. Jared is a theoretical and computational physicist, specialising in quantum theory and its application in electronics, computing and condensed-matter physics. His current research interests include the development of next generation technologies such as quantum computing, quantum sensing, advanced renewable energy technologies and low power electronics. As leader of the RMIT Applied Quantum Technologies centre, Jared works with industrial partners both nationally and internationally to develop materials, production processes and design tools for quantum computing. In addition to his academic work, Jared provides consulting advice to government and industry in the area of quantum technologies, and is the co-founder of H-Bar Quantum Consultants.
