James is a Senior Manager in Authorisations and has oversight of the teams responsible for assessing applications for authorisation from banks, insurers, payment services and e-money firms. He also oversees the team responsible for assessing applications from cryptoasset firms to be registered under the Money Laundering Regulations. James has worked for the organisation for 21 years in various areas and his experience includes: managing the Supervision Hub, including its Event Supervision function; leading the design of the FCA Authorisations function following the decision to split the FSA; and managing the debt permissions team within Authorisations, which assessed applications from firms seeking to carry on debt management or debt collection following the transfer of consumer credit regulation to the FCA.
