James is a digital transformation and innovation specialist working across the built environment and infrastructure sectors of the industry, implementing strategies and new technologies. Over the last 10 years James has worked exclusively in the infrastructure sector for both international consultants and Tier 1 contractors and client organisations. At HS2, he leads the Digital Engineering strategy, programme and vision across the programme. Reporting to the Rail Directorate as the system integrator being accountable for specifying requirements that result in an operational railway to deliver the overall benefits promised from Digital Engineering. Responsible for engaging stakeholders such as DfT, Network Rail and Government bodies such as Infrastructure Client Group and Digital Catapult to ensure HS2 receives the information and support needed to carry out HS2's work effectively and efficiently. Defining and delivering the HS2 Digital Twin, for use during design and construction and onward operations and asset maintenance against long-term efficiencies. Accountable for developing standards, methods, and understanding project scope and regulatory/legislative impacts to HS2.
