Herbert Clay is currently the Director of Corporate Security and Senior Security Officer for the Sony Electronics North America operating company. His career started in the U.S. Navy, where he spent over nine (9) years as an Intelligence Specialist and Naval Special Warfare Combatant-Craft Crewman (SWCC). Clay deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (Arabian Gulf Region & Southeast Asia), Iraqi Freedom (Iraq), Nobile Anvil (NATO), and Desert Fox (Arabian Gulf Region). After his time in the U.S. Navy, Clay worked as an independent security contractor serving in Project Manager, Close Protection, and Instructor roles for four (4) Fortune 500 clients, across five countries and three deployments. Clay was then selected for a role within Lockheed Martin, where he served for eleven (11) years supporting Physical Security, International Security, Event Security, Travel Risk Management, Training & Development, Global Security Operation Center, and Executive Protection programs. He eventually assumed the role of Regional Security Manager, Middle East & Africa (in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.) After his time with Lockheed Martin, Clay assumed the role of Director of Global Safety & Security for Marriott International (in Dubai, U.A.E.), covering the continent of Africa, before being selected for his current role with Sony Electronics. Clay earned graduate degrees in Strategic Leadership (M.S.) and Security Studies (M.A.) from UMASS Lowell, and he earned a Post-Graduate Certificate in Applied Intelligence from Mercyhurst University.
