Dr. Khalfan Al Shueili brings a unique blend of academic excellence and executive leadership to his role as Minister of Housing and Urban Planning. With a PhD in Architecture specialising in Urban Planning from the University of Glasgow and dual qualifications in Architecture and Civil Engineering from Drexel University, Dr. Al Shueili combines rigorous technical expertise with strategic vision. His career spans diverse sectors, including a transformative tenure as Chief Executive Officer of Oman Aviation Services (2018–2020) and seven years as General Manager of Operations at Oman Airports Management Company (2011–2018), where he developed extensive experience in large-scale infrastructure delivery and operational excellence. Prior to this, he served as Head of Civil and Architectural Engineering at the Higher College of Technology (2006–2011), establishing a strong foundation in technical education and capacity building. Dr. Al Shueili's expertise encompasses sustainable urban planning, smart cities and digital transformation, collaborative stakeholder engagement, and public-private partnerships. As a former Board Member of The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA), he brings valuable international perspective to Oman's ambitious housing and urban development agenda, positioning the nation for long-term sustainable growth.
