Fredrik Nilsson is Vice President of the Americas for Axis Communications, overseeing the company’s operations in North & South America and serving on the global management team. Since assuming responsibility for the Americas in 2003, revenues in the region have grown from $20M to over $1B due in part to a focus on increasing Axis’s presence in the market by opening more than 20 Axis Experience Centers throughout the region. Nilsson has been instrumental in leading the surveillance industry shift from analog closed-circuit television to network video. Mr. Nilsson has been an active participant in SIA and was on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for many years. A trusted industry speaker, he has delivered lectures and keynotes at many conferences and events across the globe. In 2016, Mr. Nilsson received the prestigious George R. Lippert Memorial Award and was inducted into the SS&I Industry Hall of Fame in 2017. Mr. Nilsson is also a past chairman of Mission 500, a charitable organization backed by the security industry, dedicated to helping children and communities in crisis. He is the author of the book, “Intelligent Network Video,” published by CRC Press, now available in its third edition. Mr. Nilsson currently sits on the Board of Directors for MSAB, the global leader in mobile forensic technology for extraction, analysis and management. He also sits on the Board of Directors for the Swedish Americas Chamber of Commerce (SACC), a key facilitator in the development of trade between Sweden and the United States of America. Prior to Axis, Mr. Nilsson served as a product manager for ABB, a global leader in power and automation technologies. A graduate of the Lund Institute of Technology, he holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering and postgraduate studies in economics.
