Mr. Francisco Gómez Durán serves as Head of the Culture Unit at the UNESCO Regional Office for Southern Africa in Harare, Zimbabwe. He oversees UNESCO’s Culture Programme across nine countries: Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. With extensive experience in cultural initiatives and international cooperation, Francisco holds M.A. degrees in arts politics from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and in international cultural management from the University of Barcelona.
