Emily Shelkowitz, MD is a pediatric geneticist at Seattle Children's Hospital and an assistant professor at the University of Washington. She completed medical school at Brown University and post-graduate training in pediatrics, medical genetics and medical biochemical genetics at the University of Colorado. Her clinical and research interests focus on improving the care of children with progressive metabolic/mitochondrial disorders and neurodegenerative diseases. She is particularly interested in understanding how to improve communication about complex decisions and is passionate about integrating principles of palliative care into her practice as a biochemical geneticist.
