Peter is Professor of Water Science and Technology at Cranfield University. In his role, he heads up the Cranfield Water Science Institute, a multidisciplinary team that focuses on the natural and anthropogenic water cycles (catchment processes, water and wastewater process science and engineering, water resource management, and water governance and policy). His own research focuses on the process science of drinking water treatment, where he is leading research on controlling PFAS ‘forever chemicals’ from entering drinking water through research funded by the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) and the OFWAT Innovation Find. He also is director of the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Water Infrastructure and Resilience, which over its lifetime will train over 100 PhD students, delivering important research that will ensure we have resilient water resources long into the future.
