Dr. Pálma Szolnoki

Ms. Szolnoki has broad academic, business and regulatory experience regarding the CEE energy sector. She graduated as a macroanalyst at Budapest Corvinus University and began her career at the university-based research centre, REKK (Regional Centre for Energy Policy Research), where she spent eight years leading Hungarian and regional projects. Later she worked as business development expert at major Hungarian energy companies (HUPX-CEEGEX, MVM). At Navitasoft, she worked on energy market digitalisation projects delivered in the CEE region (Ukraine, Croatia, Baltic States). Recently, she led the market monitoring unit at the Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority. At Zero Carbon Hub, Ms. Szolnoki leads several initiatives focused on the decarbonization of Hungary’s energy sector. She works in close collaboration with major Hungarian industrial partners, such as MVM, on research and development projects focused on energy storage. As part of ZKK’s efforts, they have also developed an energy storage valuation model to support investment decision-making within the Hungarian energy system. In 2017 Ms. Szolnoki won ERRA’s international prize, the Regulatory Research Award.
