Dr. Holt has 27 years of experience in developing scientific technologies for deployment in nuclear waste management and building infrastructure projects. She holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington, and has had roles as a senior researcher and team leader at VTT before being responsible for customer relations and partnerships in the nuclear energy sector. Her research has specialized in engineering barrier performance and monitoring for high level waste repositories, including working for Posiva projects for over 15 years. She is the co-coordinator of the ongoing 24 M€ EU project on predisposal waste management technologies, and contributes to various international projects together with Finland experts on stakeholder engagement and safe implementation of waste management solutions.
