Dr Dympna O’Sullivan is Vice President for Research and Innovation in TU Dublin. She holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence and has served as the Head of Research for the Faculty of Computing, Digital and Data. Most recently, founded and led the Digital Futures Research Hub, advancing interdisciplinary research that bridges ICT in collaboration with industry, community, and public-sector partners. She is a recognised expert in transdisciplinary research methods and a strong advocate for patient and public involvement (PPI), championing collaborative approaches that engage societal stakeholders throughout the research process. She is also an active contributor to public discourse on AI and digital transformation contributing across national and international TV, radio, and print media. Dr O’Sullivan is committed to strengthening the representation and visibility of women in STEM, contributing to multiple initiatives that promote equity and inclusion in higher education. She is a current board member of IPPOSI (the Irish Platform for Patients Organisations, Science & Industry) and a former board member of Informatics Europe.
