Dorothy Savola serves as the Protective Security Advisor in the Las Vegas area for Region 9 at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). Mrs. Savola is the second PSA in Las Vegas, and the third PSA in the state of Nevada. In this role, she collaborates and coordinates with federal, state, local, tribal, and private sector stakeholders to protect our critical infrastructure from today’s threats and build a more secure and resilient infrastructure. Prior to her role as a PSA, Mrs. Savola was the Regional Supervisory Outreach Coordinator (RSOC) for CISA Region 8 based out of Lakewood, Colorado. In this role, she managed strategic outreach, engagement, and training and exercises across all six states – Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming - within the region. Prior to joining CISA, Mrs. Savola served as the industry liaison at DHS Science and Technology Directorate (S&T). In this position, she developed new innovative strategic strategies to conduct targeted outreach to traditional and non-traditional partners across industry, academia, private sector and federal government. Before her time at S&T, Mrs. Savola served as a member of the Commercial Facilities Sector Team in the Office of Infrastructure Protection, Sector Outreach and Programs Division(SOPD), which is now the CISA Stakeholder Engagement Division (SED). She led the Gaming Subsector portfolio and worked with gaming industry partners across the U.S. Mrs. Savola began her career in the U.S. Air Force as a Security Forces member and later trained as a Security Forces Investigator. Mrs. Savola holds a master’s degree in public administration with a concentration in security management from the American Military University, and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in sociology from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
