Doncha O’Sullivan is the Deputy Secretary in the Irish Department of Justice with responsibility for the Civil Justice pillar of the Department. He leads on access to justice, civil agency governance, and immigration and international protection processing. He has previously held senior roles as Head of Corporate and of EU Affairs in the Department, incorporating responsibility for Brexit contingency planning, and the Justice sector’s Covid response. In 2019, he oversaw a major organisational design transformation within the Department and more recently led on policing modernisation and the establishment a Domestic, Sexual and Gender Based Violence agency.
