David A. Lafontaine, CPP is a corporate security leader with extensive experience designing and leading enterprise security programs across critical infrastructure, healthcare, manufacturing, and financial services organizations. He specializes in physical security strategy, risk mitigation, investigations, and crisis management for complex multi-site environments. Currently serving as Manager of Operational Security for Veolia North America, David oversees physical security operations across a multi-state critical infrastructure portfolio supporting water utility operations. His responsibilities include enterprise risk assessments, vendor governance, regulatory compliance, and security technology deployments that strengthen operational resilience and protect critical infrastructure assets. Previously, David held senior leadership roles including Director of Corporate Security at Acuity Brands, SmileDirectClub, and BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, where he built enterprise security programs supporting thousands of employees and dozens of facilities globally. His work has included implementing integrated physical security systems, launching a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC), managing multi-million-dollar security budgets, and developing crisis management and workplace violence prevention programs. Earlier in his career, David served as a Special Agent with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and held investigative and fraud prevention roles with Regions Bank and JP Morgan Chase, bringing deep investigative and law enforcement experience to corporate security leadership. David holds a Master of Public Administration from Columbus State University and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from Middle Tennessee State University. He is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) through ASIS International and serves on the ASIS International Physical Security Standards Committee, contributing to the development of industry standards that guide physical security practices worldwide.
