Chris Elko is the Head of Labor Relations for InterContinental Hotels Group ("IHG"). Chris has specialized in hospitality labor relations for over 15 years, first as outside counsel for Starwood Hotels and later as a Director of Labor Relations for Starwood and then Marriott. Chris takes pride in pairing deep operational knowledge with a commonsense approach to labor relations. While his primary focus is the efficacy and profitability of unionized hotels, Chris is also responsible for maintaining positive employee relations across all IHG's non-union properties. Prior to joining Starwood, Chris practiced law at Ogletree Deakins representing management clines in a wide variety of labor and employment matters. Chris currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Hotel Association of New York City and as a trustee on The New York Hotel Trades Council Employee Benefit Funds. Chris graduated from Rutgers University and Seton Hall Law School.
