Dr. Murry is a professor as well as the William and Marilyn Conner Chair and director of the Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He is a cardiovascular pathologist whose clinical interests span ischemic heart disease, cardiac transplantation, atherosclerosis, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, valvular disease, and non-atherosclerotic vascular disease. The Murry lab is a multidisciplinary group, spanning molecular regulation of stem cell differentiation, animal models of disease, and studies of human tissue. The lab has a longstanding interest in the biology of myocardial infarction (heart attack), with the goal of harnessing stem cells to promote regeneration of heart muscle and the coronary circulation.
