Carmen Winant is an artist and author based in Columbus, Ohio, where she holds the Roy Lichtenstein Chair in Visual Arts at Ohio State University. Her work combines found images, collage, mixed media, and installations to question the representation of women and highlight the importance of political solidarity. Her latest book, The Last Safe Abortion (SPBH Editions), brings together a selection of images from archives in the American Midwest, documenting abortion care over the past fifty years.
