Brian Muchmore, M.D., is a fourth-year combined pediatrics-medical genetics resident at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with extensive laboratory and data science experience. He is particularly interested in the application of unsupervised machine learning methodologies to genetic datasets and the utilization of long-read RNA-seq as a reflex test following negative clinical whole-genome sequencing. He is a member of the University of Michigan's Pediatric Physician-Scientist Training Program and was the inaugural awardee of the Jerold and Ingela Lucey Early Career Investigator Prize for Innovations in Infant or Child Health. He also holds a patent, along with three other scientists, for the discovery and use of interferon lambda 4 (IFNL4).
