Bhiamie Williamson is a Euahlayi man from north-west NSW with familial connections to north-west Qld. He is an Associate Professor at Monash University where he leads the National Indigenous Disaster Resilience (NIDR) research program.&nbsp; NIDR is the only nationally focussed research program examining the impacts that major disasters have on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander groups. Bhiamie&rsquo;s PhD explored the topic of Indigenous men and masculinities. Through this he examined the changing nature of Indigenous male identifies through time, and the (re)formation of Indigenous masculinities because of, and in response to, colonisation. Bhiamie holds a range of roles including as Chair of Country Needs People, Director at the Australian Indigenous Governance Institute, and Director of Maiam nayri Wingara, the national peak body advocating for Indigenous Data Sovereignty.&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp;
