B. Kennedy (he/they) has over a decade of experience within food and hospitality. It was during a high school visit in 2015 as the West Coast Regional Admissions Counselor for The Culinary Institute of America, that B. realized they were 'in the wrong place' within the food system. He immediately quit and began a 7 year journey farming and learning about the systemic inequities within the US food system. B. returned home to the Hudson Valley in 2017 to continue stewarding land, working with goats and on local vegetable farms gaining intimate knowledge of how food moves in the Hudson Valley. In 2022, he furthered his food justice work developing a gleaning program at the Rhinebeck Farmers Market which resulted in over 2.5 tons of produce and value added products being redirected from landfills and into BIPOC and immigrant communities. They believe food is a basic human right and is dedicated to feeding their neighbors and creating an equitable local food system.
