After graduating from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Public Administration in 1998, Mr. Başar, started his career as a Trainee Controller at the now former Ministry of Industry and Trade. After serving as Controller and Chief Controller in the same ministry, he was appointed as Chief Inspector to the Ministry of Customs and Trade in 2011. He served as Head of Department at the General Directorate of Domestic Trade between December 26, 2011 and April 22, 2015, and as Assistant General Manager between April 22, 2015 and March 3, 2020. Mr. Başar has been serving as the Director General of Domestic Trade since December 2, 2021. Mr. Başar completed his Master’s degree in Public Administration at the Middle East Institute of Turkey in 2010. In 2011, he was assigned to the United Kingdom for one year to conduct professional research.
