<p data-olk-copy-source="MessageBody">An early career fire safety professional, Sonny currently works as a Building Safety Officer for a Housing Association. Previously, he has worked for a private boarding school, assisting with facility management across a diverse 1200-acre campus, including state-of-the-art new blocks to historic listed buildings. He was the lead author of the FIA guidance document - Fire Alarm Considerations for People with Sensory Sensitivities. </p> <p aria-hidden="true">Utilising a research grant from the IFSM, Sonny then conducted case studies in several special needs schools to produce a report on the appropriateness of fire alarm provisions for those with sensory sensitivities.</p>

Andy's role as National Technical Manager within Aico provides technical expertise on domestic Fire/ CO alarms, Environmental sensors, and home life safety products. Andy holds responsibility over the technical aspects of Aico products, support, and training, as well as contributing to National, European, and International standards and providing liaison with industry associations and institutes. Along with Andy's role within the technical team at Aico, he is a trustee at the CO Research Trust (CORT), the Vice Chair of the FIA (Fire Industry Association) FD&A (Fire Detection and Alarm council) and chair the FIA SAD (Smoke alarms Devices) working group. Andy is an active member of CoGDEM (Council of Gas Detection and Environmental Monitoring) for expertise in domestic Carbon Monoxide alarms and a member of CENELEC Technical Committee 216 for gas detection. As a participant on several National, European, and international committees Andy is heavily involved in standardisation and is the panel chair for the BSI working group responsible for BS 5839-6.
