Maria Betsworth

Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) · Milk Making Mama

Bio

My name is Maria (IBCLC) and I am a London-based German mama of two little girls. I started Milk Making Mama as a community to help mums get together. To motivate, educate and support each other through their breastfeeding, pumping and bottle-feeding journeys. I am a qualified antenatal teacher, doula, and international board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC). I have a BSC in Traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture, specialising in antenatal and postnatal care. I am here to help and support you through your milk-making journey. To answer all your questions and listen to worries, doubts and concerns. But most importantly I am here to provide unbiased, evidence-based support that works for your unique situation. I currently run NHS community breastfeeding cafés in London that are free to attend and can provide a wonderful meeting point for fellow milk-making mamas and to receive specialist support. With my little self-drawn designs I want to create little sparkly celebrations for these moments that often get forgotten by others, and that truly deserve so much credit. My designs are to celebrate the physical and emotional work that goes into breastfeeding and pumping. I am passionate about normalising all aspects of breastfeeding, pumping, and supporting mamas throughout their milk-making journey by celebrating these small and big milestones.

Louise Broadbridge

Senior Midwife and Founder · Let's Talk Birth and Baby

Bio

Louise Broadbridge aka. The Honest Midwife is an experienced Senior Midwife and founder of Let's Talk Birth and Baby. The face behind Instagram's @thehonestmidwife, Louise believes that all births are different and unique and as such that antenatal education should aim to prepare expectant parents for every eventuality. In addition, Louise's hope is to rewrite the rule book and fully support both formula and breastfeeding parents by focusing on both forms of infant feeding and really teaching the physiology of the milk production system to give those that want to breastfeed a great chance of success.

Sophie Burch

Pregnancy, Birth, Parenting Mental Health & Wellbeing Expert · The Mamma Coach

Bio

Sophie Burch (aka The Mamma Coach) is a perinatal therapist and coach, mother to 4 boys (including twins) and author and founder of Beyond Birth: Mindful Early Parenting. Sophie has worked with thousands of people in pregnancy, birth and parenting with a mission to support and guide them through the challenges of this vulnerable, transformative time. Sophie uses both her professional and life experiences to empathise with and nurture everyone she works with and takes the view that if we all bring simple, effective mental wellbeing practices into our daily lives, we will be more resilient to the lows and more aware of the joy that life as a parent brings. How we are is how our children will be, and now, more than ever it's vital we take a moment to pause and practice ways to keep our minds at peace and bring increased awareness into everything we do. Sophie has created Beyond Birth as a Book & Journal, Ebook, Parent Support Groups, and now Mental Wellbeing Practitioner Training which has 200+ practitioners around the world. Sophie believes that if more mental wellbeing practices were introduced in pregnancy and early parenting, within classes and groups, it would become the “norm” more readily and we would see the benefits quickly on over-stretched mental health systems and services too.
