Prof. Wulfmeyer is expert in the development of active remote sensing systems such as Raman, differential absorption, and Doppler lidar with unprecedented resolutions and accuracy since decades. This includes detailed knowledge in suitable laser transmitters, detector systems, and advanced data processing and analyses. For the first time, he demonstrated the unique impact of high-resolution and accurate profiling of temperature and moisture in mesoscale weather forecast models by means of state-of-the art data assimilation. Also, he applies sensor synergy including these active remote sensing systems for climate monitoring, boundary layer studies, and the investigation of land-atmosphere feedbacks.

Rodica Nitu is an accomplished professional, licensed Professional Engineer, working until very recently as the Project Manager of the Global Cryosphere Watch, in the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). She successfully enabled the integration of the cryosphere in the Earth system approach to monitoring and prediction of the World Meteorological Organization, through international collaborations and mutually beneficial partnerships between research and operational communities. Previously, Rodica was the Manager of Observing Systems and Engineering in the Meteorological Service of Canada and successfully led the WMO Solid Precipitation Intercomparison Experiment (SPICE).

For more than 30 years, Rémy Giraud has contributed to the work of WMO on data sharing activities (from introduction of TCP/IP on the GTS to the development of WIS 2.0). Since May 2020, he is now the Chair of the Standing Committee on Information Management and Technology, part of the Infrastructure Commission of WMO). This team oversees all the work related to Data exchange, Data Format, Metadata format, IT Security and Information Management. During this period, Rémy worked mostly at Météo-France, but also at ECMWF and IBM. His last position at Météo-France is Head of the Infrastructure Department, in charge of all IT resources (HPC, Archive, Servers and Network) for Météo-France.

Nikša Orlić is the co-founder and CEO of Geolux, a company specializing in the development of instruments and systems for hydrometeorological monitoring. He holds a background in computer engineering with a focus on embedded systems and signal processing. Since co-founding Geolux in 2007, Mr. Orlić has guided the company in creating advanced radar-based solutions for hydrology monitoring, flood prevention, and water resource management. More recently, he has been leading the expansion of Geolux’s portfolio to include hydrometeorological dataloggers and data analysis software. He serves as a member of the First Mile Data Collection Task Team, established by WMO and HMEI.

Jan Barani is an aeronautical engineer with years of experience in wing design and wind tunnel testing at the Boeing Commercial Airplane Company. He is the founder and owner of BARANI and the designer of the revolutionary helical MeteoShield Pro, the MeteoHelix micro-weather station, the MeteoWind elliptic anemometer, and the MeteoRain Class A rain sensors. These devices, even in their compact form, are proving to outclass the measurement quality of Tier-1 WMO meteorological networks. While his contributions to meteorology are not in the form of research papers, his hardware design speaks for itself.

Jens Didszun is a graduate of the Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Freiburg, Germany. He earned his PhD in hydrology. Following his doctoral studies, he served as a postdoctoral research fellow within the coordinating team of the German funding initiative “Risk Management of Extreme Flood Events (RIMAX).” Since 2008, Jens works with LEONARDO Germany GmbH, a leading manufacturer of weather radar systems. His roles have included senior software trainer for international clients and product manager specializing in the application of weather radar data in hydrology. In 2022, he was appointed Section Leader of the Information Systems & Solutions group, overseeing the development of the radar-meteorological software Rainbow®.

Jay leads the Global Projects and Technical Sales at OTT Hydromet, an instrument manufacturing company that provides technical expertise and solutions that seamlessly integrate hardware, software, and services across a range of environmental monitoring applications. Prior to OTT Hydromet, she was at the World Meteorological Organization, where she spearheaded creation of the Project Management and Implementation Division of which she became the Head and oversaw the development and implementation of global projects. During her tenure at WMO, she worked closely with multilateral and bilateral funding agencies, UN agencies, development banks as well as with WMO functional structures to ensure projects and programmes are aligned with the WMO's strategic objectives and build capacities of national hydromet services. Jay also represent OTT Hydromet as the Board Member responsible for WMO Collaboration with the Hydro-Meteorological and she develops and leads mutually-beneficial areas for meaningful collaboration between the public and private sectors in the weather, water and climate value chain.

She is the founder of the online support platform Vets: Stay, Go or Diversify bringing peer to peer inspiration for career pathways and she is also co-founder of VetYou - helping to support the financial future of her community members. Ebony is a visiting lecturer at Surrey University and publishes work in the field of gut health. Ebony is the recipient of the inaugural RCVS Inspiration Award and Liverpool Uni Alumni award.

With a background in Atmospheric Sciences and a Master's degree in Environmental Meteorology jointly awarded by the University of Trento and the University of Innsbruck, Tullio Degiacomi is a Data Scientist at Hypermeteo. He works on the elaboration and post-processing of NWP weather models, the production of probabilistic ensemble forecasts, and the analysis of future climate projections, applying and developing various statistical downscaling and bias correction algorithms to improve the representativeness of climate datasets. Using these datasets, Tullio studies the evolution of different climatic hazards at regional scales, delivering climate services primarily for the finance and agricultural sectors.
