Jelle BLOEMHOF

Head of Composite Manufacturing Technologies · AIRBUS

Bio

Biography:

I was in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands, and grew up in Germany, where I finished my Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of Wilhelmshaven. In May 1989, I started to work at Airbus in Stade, as a process engineer in assembly of metal components for the Fokker 100 rear section. Then I moved to composite parts production, where I was a line manager for a group of manufacturing engineers. In 2003 I became A400M Industrial Leader for the vertical tail plane, tasked with setting up a facility for elementary parts production and assembly. Following a successful start of production andthe first deliveries, I moved to Hamburg where I became an A350 Forward and Rear Fuselage Programme Manager. I enjoyed that very much, as it covered a significant scope of activities from design to certification. Industrialization of the components took place at Premium AEROTEC GmbH. In 2010 I went back to Stade as head of plant manufacturing engineering. During this period, we finished industrialization for the A350 wing upper cover, rear fuselage upper and lower covers, and the vertical tail plane assembly, before starting up production. Today I am in a central function which develops technologies that reduces the cost of our production. Second pillar is R&T where we develop processes and products which will be introduced in production in the range of 5 to 8 years.

About AIRBUS:

Airbus is a manufacturer of commercial airplanes, helicopters and defense and space products.
