Luca Pezzini (58) has been the Secretary General of the European Lift Association – ELA and the European Elevator Association – EEA since 2019. His previous work experience includes the European Commission and responsibility for institutional relations in multinational companies and in the main Italian association representing large companies. He was born in a family of entrepreneurs and has gained extensive experience in liaison activities with European and international institutional/political representations.

Lidia Godlewska-Carmona has been working on EU policies in the fields of single market, industry and trade for the past sixteen years. Since February 2023, she has been Deputy Head of Unit responsible for engineering industries at the European Commission’s Directorate General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW). Before that, she advised a director in charge of EU internal market legislation and policy supporting competitiveness of several industrial sectors: engineering, construction, energy-intensive, raw materials and mobility (automotive, maritime and rail), as well as circular economy and standardisation policy. Lidia’s professional experiences, gathered at the European Commission since 2013, DG TRADE and DG GROW, encompass i.a. EU raw materials policy coordination, EU dialogues with third countries and international organisations, and tariff and non-tariff trade negotiations. Before joining the European Commission, Lidia was a senior expert-coordinator for multilateral and EU free trade agreements and the EU Council’s Trade Policy Committee in the Polish Ministry of Economy. She supported the Polish Presidency of the EU Council in the second half of 2011. Lidia holds diplomas of master and doctoral studies in the field of economics.

Mr. Massimo Bezzi is the President and Treasurer of EFESME, which he also represents in the SBS – Small Business Standards Board of Directors and General Assembly. Actively involved in EFESME since its beginnings, he was one of the founding members in 2005, and served as vice-president for ten years, between 2008 and 2018. Also the Chairman of ICM Lift Components, an Italian lift SMEs, Mr. Bezzi is at the forefront of the national, European and international scene as a member of the Board of Directors of ANACAM and of Elevator World Inc.

Doctor of Technical Sciences. Member of the Transport Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He defended his doctoral dissertation at the Poznań University of Technology in the scientific discipline of transport. A graduate of the Warsaw University of Technology, where he obtained a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering. He completed postgraduate studies “MBA for Engineers” at the Kozminski University. He began his professional career at the Warsaw Development Planning Office and then gained knowledge and experience working at the Warsaw Voivodeship Office, the Municipal Roads Authority, and Budimex S.A. From 1994 to 1999, he was the Deputy Mayor of the Capital City of Warsaw. He has been working at Warsaw Metro since 2002, initially as Deputy Director, and then as a member of the Management Board of Warsaw Metro Ltd. In the company’s management, he was responsible for metro expansion and its operational issues. Since January 2006, he has been serving as the President of the Management Board of the company. He is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology. He conducts didactic and research activities at the Department of Geotechnics, Bridges, and Underground Structures. He has participated in many specialized professional trainings in construction and environmental protection in the context of European Union regulations, public procurement law, and the conduct of investment processes. For three terms, from 2013 to 2019, as a representative of Poland, he was a member of the Policy Board in the International Association of Public Transport (UITP), serving as a Member of the Policy Board.

Mazowiecki Wojewódzki Konserwator Zabytków · Provincial Office for the Protection of Monuments in Warsaw
Marcin Dawidowicz – monument expert, graduate of the field of Protection of Cultural Property, specializing in conservation, as part of the Inter-faculty Individual Humanities Studies at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. Additionally, he completed postgraduate studies in the protection of cultural heritage (historical city) at the Warsaw University of Technology and was a student of the Academy of Heritage of the International Cultural Center in Krakow. Since 2008, he has been professionally associated with institutions dealing with the protection of monuments, including: in the years 2012-2018, chief specialist of the Department of Expertise and Conservation Analyzes of the National Heritage Institute, 2018-2022 head of the Department of the Register and Documentation of Monuments of the Provincial Office for the Protection of Monuments in Warsaw, 2023-2024 head of the reactivated Field Branch – Warsaw of the National Heritage Institute. His professional interests focus on the theory and practice of monument valuation, the history of the organization of monument protection services in Poland, and legal protection of the heritage of post-war modernism. Moreover, it actively cooperates with social organizations and social guardians of monuments. Author of numerous expert opinions and conservation analyzes on monuments in Warsaw and Masovia, publications in the field of art history and monument protection, scholarship holder of the capital city of Warsaw. Warsaw in the field of protection of monuments (2013), co-author of the national Report on the state of preservation of immovable monuments (2017), Deputy Chairman of the Team for Contemporary Cultural Properties of the NID (2023).

Lifts Expert
A graduate of the Faculty of Working Machines and Vehicles at the Warsaw University of Technology and postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Precision Mechanics and the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw. In the years 1970–1989, designer and head of design workshops in factories and research and development centers of the machinery industry. He led a team that constructed and then launched the production of the first hydraulic cranes, composed of domestic components. Two of them, put into operation in July 1989 in the Polonia House in Pułtusk, are still in operation today. In the years 1989–1997 he held managerial positions in crane industry companies, and from 1998 to 2014 he was the president of the Sursum company he founded. The company’s achievements include, among others: many lifts in historic buildings. Author of dozens of publications, numerous technical opinions and expert opinions.

Conservator-historical expert, doctor of engineering and technology. A graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń with a master’s degree in the protection of cultural property, specializing in conservation. Her doctoral dissertation, defended in 2022 at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Transport of the Poznań University of Technology, concerned historical lifting devices as a problem of conservation of monuments of engineering art. She worked as a specialist for the protection of immovable monuments at the Office of the Municipal Conservator of Monuments in Poznań. In the years 2020-2023, she carried out a research project on the history of development of lifting equipment technology in Poland, financed by the National Science Center [No. UMO-2019/33/N/HS3/01662].
