With five years’ professional architectural and hands-on expertise in design, retrofit and deconstruction, Darcy champions a pragmatic approach to reducing waste and embedding circular principles into projects and processes. This is grounded in a wider ambition to radically change our industry in the face of the Climate Emergency. To achieve the later she is involved in a number of industry action groups; the Edge, the Circular Do Tank and supports Architects Declare.

Professor Aaron Gillich is an authority on building decarbonisation and the transition to low carbon heat, with a research portfolio grounded in real world building performance and the policy frameworks needed to scale retrofit. His work examines how heat pumps, energy efficiency measures, and market transformation can accelerate emissions reductions across the built environment. He has a particular interest in the challenges of adapting existing buildings for a changing climate. Through his writing and collaborations, he advocates for evidence based approaches that bridge engineering, policy, and social equity to deliver a fair and effective energy transition.

Jon Bootland is Director of the Sustainable Development Foundation (SD Foundation), which promotes high performance sustainable buildings. He is also Chief Executive of the Passivhaus Trust, which is the official body for promoting and protecting the Passivhaus standard in the UK, and helped to set up the National Retrofit Hub, the Good Homes Alliance and other leading sustainable building organisations.

Ann-Marie is a Co-Director at the Passivhaus Trust, having spent 10 years working with leading sustainability practice Architype. She is a chartered member of RIBA and ARB, and a member of the Passivhaus Trusts technical advisory group. Having qualified as an architect in TU Dublin Ireland she went onto gain a Masters with Cardiff University in Environmental Building Design, and still supports third level education today in environmental design and external examining. She has presented globally over the last 15 years on her work, and her recent focus has been large scale Passivhaus delivery and non domestic retrofit/estate decarbonisation

Dr Jan Kattein, DipArch, MArch, PhD, FIPM is a writer, lecturer and architect reframing design as a socially and environmentally regenerative practice. His studio, Jan Kattein Architects is recognised internationally as a leading placemaking and participatory design practices with award-winning projects that are celebrated for their spatial- and civic accomplishments. Recent awards include the 2023 social Value Architect of the Year Award, Best Build Environment Practice in the TET Education Awards 2023 and a Commendation for a lifetime of Architecture for the Common Good in the 2024 MacEwen Awards. Jan is the author of ‘The Architecture Chronicle – Diary of an Architectural Practice’ (2014), ‘High Street Regeneration’ (2022) and ‘Londoners Making London – Transforming neighbourhoods’ (2024).

Ben Holmes is Head of Sustainability at Elliott Wood. A Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and Chartered Environmentalist, Ben leads a team of forward-thinking consultants dedicated to transforming the built environment. With over 15 years’ experience in sustainability consultancy, his work centres on material flow analysis and circular economy principles; viewing buildings as dynamic systems rather than static objects. Ben is committed to challenging conventional construction approaches by integrating regenerative design with practical, tangible outcomes.

David created Value Match over 10 years ago as a specialist procurement services and consultancy company. Previously, David has held senior positions in the Cabinet Office, HM Treasury, worked to support Procurement Efficiency within US Federal Government and recently as Director of Procurement, Sustainability and Social Impact at NHS SBS. Through extensive experience in ensuring procurement aligns to an organisation’s strategy and purpose, David believes that procurement can play a pivotal role in mitigating climate change while delivery positive social vale impact and improving broader organisational outcomes.

Adam is a Housing Development Manager at City of York Council, specialising in Project Managing Passivhaus and Retrofit projects. He is a graduate of the Centre for Alterative Technology, a Passivhaus Consultant and a Chartered Construction Manager. He has worked in construction as a sustainability consultant, construction manager and development manager. He leads the Yorkshire branch of the Association for Environment Conscious Building (AECB) sharing knowledge at the cutting edge of sustainable construction and design.

Oliver Heath, Ba (Hons), Dip Arch (UCL) Oliver is founder & director of Oliver Heath Design (founded 2003), who are researchers, consultants, designers, and advocates for health and wellbeing in the built environment, benefiting both people and planet. Over the last 15 years his company have been become globally recognised thought leaders and practitioners in Biophilic Design through the dissemination of knowledge, alongside the development and delivery of human centred nature-based design projects. This has been across a range of spatial typologies including hospitality, workplace, residential, and education sectors. Design clients include Apple, Bloomberg, The BRE, Accor, The London School of Economics, Lloyds Insurance and the John Lewis Partnership’s venture into Built to Rent apartments. He has extensive experience in knowledge creation and presentation, having spent 15 years working for TV channels such as BBC, ITV and Channel 4, publishing 4 books, 8 white papers, online courses and presenting over 600 RIBA certified CPDs on Biophilic Design. Oliver is a passionate advocate of regenerative design and has acted as a spokesperson for the likes of the UK’s Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), the Energy Saving Trust (EST) and the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP).

Rachel is a Chartered Meteorologist, with over 18 years’ experience in the construction sector. Her expertise encompasses sustainability, metrics, environmental product declarations (EPDs) and international reporting of sector greenhouse gas emissions and sinks, together with climate risk, resilience and adaptation. She leads the UK Concrete sustainability data collection programme, including annual sector reporting to government for inclusion in official statistics, development of product and sector metrics, and Life Cycle Assessment for Environmental Product Declarations. She created the MPA sector EPDs for cement and ready-mixed concrete and is a keen advocate for their appropriate use, especially in early-stage design. Rachel also led a DESNZ funded consortium to model the carbon emissions sink due to carbonation of concrete to inform the UK’s international climate reporting to the IPCC. She is leading global industry collaboration on development of carbonation methodologies for IPCC greenhouse gas inventory reporting and has been selected as a lead author for the 2027 IPCC Methodology Report on Carbon Dioxide Removal and CCUS. She is active in numerous industry committees and task groups, including the UK Net Zero Carbon Building Standard, UKGBC and Eco Platform.
