<p>David Tomalin is the Delivery Manager for Strategic Key Accounts at WMCA, which helps very large employers with their skills and training needs, helping to support their recruitment aims and providing a bridge into the Combined Authority for support in other areas that may impact our region and its citizens. Tomalin has had an extensive sales career at BT Plc, trained and qualified in consultative sales techniques and has subsequently worked for a range of training providers and business support organisations including Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, Birmingham City University and GBSLEP Growth Hub, amongst others. He has also run his own business and has a clear understanding of how businesses work, innovate and scale.</p>

<p>Claire Scott is a Technology Adoption Specialist with the Made Smarter Adoption programme in the North West and has been a part of its growth since its launch in 2018, guiding manufacturing SMEs in harnessing digital technologies to elevate their business practices. She also sits on both the Strategic Advisory Board for the Interact Programme and the People-Led Digitalisation programme funded by Made Smarter Innovation.</p> <p>With her roots in the aerospace sector and a keen focus on additive manufacturing she has been keen to help share her expertise and experience with SMEs in the adoption of Digital technology.</p> <p>Claire believes that technology is an important tool for manufactures but without having the right skills and culture in place, the benefit of technology cannot be truly realised. This has led her to support the development of courses like Fast Track Additive Manufacturing.</p>

<p>Halil&nbsp;Bedevi&nbsp;is a Chartered Engineer and a senior manufacturing industry leader with more than 30 years&rsquo; experience across engineering, manufacturing operations, strategy, and international trade. As a consultant, fractional executive, NED and board advisor,&nbsp;Bedevi&nbsp;works with industry, government and academia and leverages his global network and expertise to helping businesses connect, improve, grow, and succeed in the UK and globally.</p>

<p>Ioana is a Lean / Continuous Improvement and Human Resources leader with experience in manufacturing (automotive and aerospace), with both a local and international focus, single and multi-site. Ioana is a rounded business leader, with hands-on experience in operations, human resources, programme management and finance. Her specialties include continuous improvement / lean and coaching in both manufacturing and business processes. Additionally, she is a seasoned Human Resources professional, having covered roles in employee development, talent management and as a generalist. Ioana currently serves as Head of Lean at Rolls-Royce, dedicated to driving positive change and transformation within the organisation.</p>

<p>John Kilgallon is the General Manager at Turbine Surface Technologies Ltd, seconded from Rolls-Royce plc since 2020, where he leads a team supplying high technology coating solutions to R-R domestic and sub-tier customers.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>After completing his Aerospace Engineering Masters Degree at the University of Bristol in 2001, John joined Rolls-Royce graduate training in Bristol and moved into the Turbines Nozzle Guide Vanes (NGV) business eighteen months later as a Manufacturing Engineer. After several years of product engineering and as a ME team leader for a range of NGVs, John then led the development of a machining cell as part of R-R&rsquo;s strategic Bristol site transformation and the project to build and move NGV operations into the new Bristol Turbines Facility.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>In 2008 John took his first technical management role, as Manufacturing Engineering Manager in the Bristol Foundry, and took on the role of high performance culture trainer. In 2012 he took on the role of Chief of Manufacturing Systems, leading development of the shop floor IT capability for R-R Turbines Supply Chin Unit. He subsequently spent two years as Turbines Chief of Manufacturing Engineering for Core &amp; Cast before, in 2015, moving to Rotherham as the Manufacturing Manager of the Advanced Blade Casting Facility. In this role he led and grew the team to industrialise this brand new highly advanced, automated and digitally capable investment casting facility, before then moving to Turbine Surface Technologies, leading the business through the challenge of the COVID pandemic, subsequent doubling in output, and completion and inauguration of TSTL&rsquo;s second manufacturing facility.</p>

<p>Omar Haq is a technology leader with over 16 years of&nbsp;experience delivering multi-million-pound programmes across Aerospace, Automotive, and Industry 4.0 sectors. Specialising in Digital Transformation and Automation, he has led pioneering initiatives in AI, Robotics, and Digital Twins to drive smart manufacturing. Omar is known for his strategic leadership, global team management, and ability to align innovation with business outcomes. He currently heads the development of next-gen automated manufacturing systems in the UK aerospace sector.</p>

<p>Ellie McCann is the Editor of Machinery magazine, a longstanding publication covering the latest manufacturing technology and applications across industry. Having written about engineering and technology for the last few years, she has a particular interest in sustainability, skills, the rise of AI, and championing diversity and inclusion in every industry sector.</p>

<p>Faye is Head of Policy at Make UK, the Manufacturers&rsquo; Association, representing over 20,000 manufacturers across the UK. She leads Make UK&rsquo;s policy and advocacy work, spanning labour market and skills, digitalisation and innovation, net zero, energy efficiency and devolution. Faye&rsquo;s core focus is to champion manufacturers and influence Government to back manufacturing. Prior to joining Make UK, Faye worked at the Department for Education and the Department for Business and Trade, working and leading on a variety of different Government policies.</p>

<p>Dr Valeria Ramirez is a researcher and lecturer at the University of Cambridge, working at the intersection of innovation and society. She specialises in performance metrics and socio-technical evaluation. Her work focuses on inclusive manufacturing. She is currently developing co-designed standards to improve accessibility, address skills shortages, and strengthen diversity and innovation in advanced manufacturing ecosystems.</p>
