<p>‘I am’ signifies confidence and the essence of who I am in the world of events. As an Event Professional turned recruitment specialist, I've organically embraced this mantra. Having lived and thrived in the events realm, I've translated that passion into 'I am Recruitment.'</p> <p>With a heritage rooted in the events industry, my agency focuses solely on events recruitment—from experiential to corporate and charity spheres. It's not just about finding the right fit; it's about genuine connections and tailored expertise.</p> <p>For me, 'I am' means having impactful conversations that lead to perfect matches. I'm a relationship enthusiast—a listener, advisor, and recruiter rolled into one. My mission? To ensure a seamless fit, offering high-quality service without hidden agendas. Your career doesn't solely define you, but in events, it's hard not to live and breathe your job. That's where I step in, dedicated to ensuring a perfect all-round fit for both clients and candidates.</p>

<p>I have been working in the events industry for 8 years and during this time I have worked in 4 different agencies in the Midlands and London. I started my career as a Project Co-ordinator and then developed to a role as a Project Manager, furthered my experience a little more by becoming a Senior Project Manager, which meant I was managing a team of 6 people, and then progressed onward to my current position as an Account Director at DRPG. <br /> During my career I have had lots experience delivering a range of projects end-to-end, from large scale conferences and hybrid events for 30,000 people, to international incentives, corporate roadshows and award ceremonies. I have been recognised for the work I have delivered on the C&amp;IT Agency A-List in 2021 and 2023, and I was also The Meetings Shows Tomorrow Talent Winner 2023. I was also recently awarded the Passion Value Award at DRPG for my work at the company in 2023. </p> <p>During my career, I have had the privilege of working with a variety of different clients across many different industries, which has not only broadened my skill set as a project manager but made me understand the importance of effective team working across all areas of an event and how to build successful strong relationships. <br /> I am extremely passionate about working in the events industry, and absolutely love the challenges we face as planners, aswell as the constant learning opportunities and the fact that no day is ever the same! I would love to share some of my experiences at the Event Production Show this year.</p>

<p>I started in Events over 10 years ago and in that time I've had the opportunity to work on festivals, concerts, conferences, award shows and more. I started to freelance properly in 2019, and focused on music, arts and entertainment. I've held roles that include Event Coordinator, Artist Liaison, Stage Manager, Tour Manager &amp; Venue Manager. </p> <p>In May 2023 I did something I didn’t plan for and stumbled into a role at a venue. I’m now an Event Manager at The Halls in Wolverhampton (a AEG presents venue). They have been really understanding and given me flexibility. I worked for SJM as a VIP Manager on the JLS tour, had various festivals roles and did artist liaison at Soundstorm in Saudi Arabia. The balance between full time and freelance work is something I’m yet to perfect but I’m enjoying working it out, and look forward to what’s to come.</p>

<p>Sarah has almost a decade's experience in the events industry, having started her career in muddy festival fields at 18. Lured away from her planned legal career path by the excitement of the events world, she joined a London based agency after graduation and never looked back. Working on projects for some of the world's largest brands like Puma, Meta, Google, the UK Government and more, Sarah learnt the ropes of eventing before heading out on her own and forging a path in the freelance world. After producing event all over the world and finding her niche in experience and concept design, Sarah joined the YouTube team a few months ago to bring some creative flair to their marketing teams.</p>

<p>Kate Goodrum is an Account Manager, freelance event professional and DJ. After graduating from the University of Cambridge with a degree in Land Economy, Kate started a career in finance but soon felt burnt out and unfulfilled. She spent her weekends and holidays doing freelance event work at festivals and shows, eventually leaving the trading floor to pursue the music and live events industry full-time. </p> <p>After completing a Kickstarter scheme at Keep Hush, she joined the team at DICE, where she was promoted to Account Manager within 10 months. Outside of work, she volunteers for the Roundhouse Youth Advisory Board, influencing the venue's programming for young people aged 11-30, and is an occasional DJ and radio producer.</p>

<p>Gemma joined the Newman Events team, fresh from finishing her A-Levels back in 2016. She started as a casual employee, before joining the office team part time as a recruitment and operations assistant, working her way up to her current role as Assistant General Manager, the second highest role within the company currently.</p> <p>In 2021, she was asked to write an editorial for the crowd magazines specialist issue on ‘Celebrating Women in the Events Industry’. In 2022 she was listed as one of Access All Area’s 30 under 30 for the events industry, as well as a finalist for ‘Unsung Hero’ at the Festival Supplier Awards in 2023.</p> <p>Her experience out on the ground at the beginning of her career, has only enhanced her understanding of working within the crowd management industry and supports her now in a managerial role. She is very passionate about not only encouraging people to join the crowd management industry post education, but encouraging females particularly to explore the industry, as it is so male dominated currently.</p>

<p>Mollie McDermott is a Project Manager specialising in planning and delivering major sporting events, including The Open, Six Nations, and Autumn International Rugby.</p> <p>Her journey into the events industry began at Manchester Metropolitan University, where she completed a BA (Hons) in Event Management. She opted for practical experience during a placement year where she gained key industry insights and skills. Mollie’s interest and passion for event production were sparked during a module called 'Event Production Management,' shaping her current career trajectory. </p> <p>Mollie serves as a guide for the next generation of event management graduates on the course she once pursued. She shares insights into how she approached coursework and demonstrates how the course is directly applicable to real-world jobs providing students with a tangible connection between academic study and employability.</p> <p>On a golf course, in a stadium, or attending festivals, gigs, or shows, Mollie remains deeply involved and committed to the dynamic world of events. Her proudest moment to date is her involvement in Operation London Bridge.</p>

<p>Nicci is a seasoned professional in both the drinks industry and the wider world of events. Known and respected through a rich history of delivering exceptional experiences with outstanding results, Nicci is recognised for her trademark style, encompassing dedication, industry understanding, and delivery across the most ambitious of productions. </p> <p>With a career spanning two decades and three continents, her passion for hospitality, advocacy, and the artistry of the spirits industry has been the compass guiding her journey. </p> <p>Throughout various roles in operations, customer marketing, and trade advocacy, Nicci has consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of the industry's nuances.</p> <p>In her current position at Chorus, Nicci channels her extensive expertise into shaping brand strategy, with a focus on creating impactful and meaningful experiences that deliver growth objectives. With a unique blend of global experience and an unwavering passion, Nicci continues to be a driving force in the ever-evolving landscape of brand activation through the lens of premium spirits.</p>

<p>Andy’s career includes 30 years of extensive technical background developed through hands-on experience. As Director of Technical Production at London-based creative agency Chorus, his management of event production teams and eye for detail delivers the client’s brief within budget and time scales.</p> <p>Andy’s understanding of global and localised market supply chains ensures operational success. <p>Nick joined the NCASS joining the team in 2021 heading up the operations of the business. Nick’s mandate was to drive membership value by developing products and services as well as developing an infrastructure fit for the next 20 years. Nick is also a professional business coach having worked across multiple business sectors and with many business types.</p>

Joining this important debate is crucial to me because DEI is the backbone of a thriving, innovative industry. It's more than a tick-box exercise—it's about fostering an environment where diverse voices lead to richer, more creative outcomes for everyone.

<p>Jenny Howard Coombes is an established cultural leader with a career spanning 25 years working across the arts, culture, and major events sector.</p> <p>Prior to joining Edinburgh International Festival as Head of Partnerships, she was Executive Director of Dandelion 2022 leading on the delivery of an award winning, major nationwide creative programme engaging schools, communities, and industry throughout Scotland. <br /> In 2012 she became Executive Director &amp; joint CEO of Freedom Festival (Hull) and played a central role in building an international arts organisation and annual festival. During her tenure at Freedom Festival, she contributed significantly to the cultural transformation of the city – galvanising investment in the arts to increase access, engagement and enable community led creative initiatives and supported, as a delivery partner, the UK City of Culture programme during 2017.</p>

<p>I have spent the last 20+ years working in venues around the UK &amp; the USA with a focus on sporting and entertainment spaces. Starting in the world of hotels, it was clear that venue sales &amp; events were where the fun was! Currently employed by Live Nation at the Utilita Arena Cardiff as Sales &amp; Marketing Manager, with a focus on corporate and hospitality sales, my work has included major sporting events such as the 2012 Olympics &amp; concerts with audiences from 500-70,000 capacity, large corporate events of 1,000+ guests plus mini festivals, exhibitions, feature films and more.</p>

<p>Mike has orchestrated the moves of CEOs, MDs, Directors and Managers into exhibition and conference organisers, venues and suppliers across Europe, Asia, North America, Africa and Australia. He is a member of several industry working groups across HR, DEI and talent, and has contributed a guest lecture to Event Crowd's Event Management Diploma. He has spoken at industry events including the UFI Global Congress, International Confex and the ESSA Annual Conference, and he spearheads Expocast's strategic partnership with the AEO.</p>
