John Bentley is UK Managing Director of PLP part of the broader international company. He is a career Engineer who has worked in Automotive, Oil and Gas and Power transmission for the last 30 years with three industrial groups. John is a Chartered Engineer and uses that background to apply focus and problems solving to a wide range of business and design process having patented at least three inventions along the way. As well as working on sustainable / EV transport solutions much of Johns work is on the broader energy transition and work to enable the grid transformation away from carbon fuels to wind and renewables.

Voltloader is a company pioneering electric Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) transport and charging services, with a focus on supporting the decarbonisation of food and agricultural supply chains. With a career spanning energy, commodity supply chains, and agritech, Dave has worked at the forefront of process and technology transformation. In 2001, Dave was one of the initial team at Baringa Partners – now a £300m management consultancy. During his time at Baringa, Dave was focussed on the UK and European electricity markets and he later grew the commodity supply chain sector, mostly advising on process and technological transformation. In 2018, Dave took on the COO role at Hectare Agritech, a growth business focusing on digitising farming marketplaces. Through his experiences, Dave built significant exposure to the physical UK agricultural markets and a deep fascination for the challenges and opportunities in decarbonising road transport.

Kevin has spent nearly 20 years working with some of the UK’s largest fleets, specialising in hardware and software technologies that enhance vehicle safety, security, and efficiency. An early EV adopter, he is deeply involved in fleet electrification and decarbonisation. Kevin is the Commercial Director at The Vehicle Group, a British manufacturer of vehicle‑based technology supporting OEMs and fleet operators across all sectors. He continues to champion advanced solutions for commercial vehicles, most recently leading the rollout of TVG’s flagship product, Ecolimit, which helps improve electric vehicle range and reduce unnecessary downtime.

The programme is the UK’s key intervention towards decarbonising heavy duty road freight, aiming to increase HGV operator confidence and government understanding of various zero emission HGV technologies and their infrastructure requirements.</p> <p>Prior to joining the Land & Maritime Transport team at Innovate UK, Isabella has worked in R&D policy for several years to support development of other net zero technologies, such as offshore renewables and decarbonising heating and cooling. Isabella also completed a PhD at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, focussing on biorefineries and the chemistry of biomass.</p>
