Bio

Brett Jenkins has a 12-year background in print/graphic design and over 16 years of leadership experience in the print and healthcare fields. For the past five years Brett has managed the day-to-day operations of Nationwide Children’s in-plant print shop, mail operations, and printer/copier fleet. Nationwide Children’s Hospital staffs over 13,000 employees. Undergoing a $730M expansion since 2016, Jenkins has helped her teams create operational efficiencies that maintained exemplary service levels to the hospital staff and saved the organization thousands of dollars. The exceptional NCH print shop performance is resulting in a newly renovated building that will enable further expansion of services and expand production. Jenkins has been a member of IPMA since 2017 and is a certified Executive Mail Center Manager (EMCM).

Bio

Jon Bedsted started printing in high school in 1975, earned a teaching degree in Graphic Arts, and since 1982 has been in the in-plant printing and mailing industry. He has managed various printing, mailing, and print-buying activities for the Mayo Clinic for 30 years. Mayo is a large organization with 68,000 employees in 62 cities. Aside from the main focus of patient care, Mayo conducts a tremendous amount of medical research and education, all of which need the in-plant’s products and services. Jon currently is manager of print production and mail activities, which involve 22 staff in mailing and 28 in printing.

As the print and bindery supervisor, Hawco is responsible for the last steps in the production process, coordinating materials to assemble the finished products. Hawco began his career in the industry, first in a small commercial print and then a small newspaper, starting as an operator and advancing to general manager. He joined UNL 20 years ago as a bindery operator, quickly advancing to second shift lead worker and then to Inventory Supervisor before accepting the role of Print/Bindery Supervisor, 13 years ago. Hawco holds a BS, Biological Sciences from University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Ben Fowler

Bio

Ben Fowler, Supervisor of Document Services, Shelter Insurance, Columbia, Missouri. After serving as underwriting supervisor for State Farm Insurance for 16 years, Fowler joined Shelter Insurance 11 years ago. In addition to managing document services, Fowler also supervises a team of graphic designers that work closely with their own print shop. The in-plant supports insurance agents and other Shelter departments who have printing or design needs. Fowler has been an IPMA member since 2015 but feels he has benefitted most from volunteering at conferences (earning the nickname “Goose”) and serving as an In-Print Awards judge. Fowler holds a BS, Counseling Psychology from University of Missouri- Columbia.

Seiler manages the in-plant in Dayton, N.J. and also manages the Global Print Services FSC certificate. She began her print industry career as a print buyer with Bloomberg’s Creative Services team. In 2001, Seiler joined Bloomberg’s in-plant as Production Manager. Her staff supports digital print production, offset print production, wide format print production, bindery, and fulfillment. Ms. Seiler is also a member of Bloomberg’s Sustainability Squad that is comprised of a network of employees driving sustainable practices around the world for Bloomberg L.P.

Kristen Hampton, Director of Print and Mail Management, State of Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget (DTMB) . Hampton manages both the print and mail in-plant facilities for the State. She began her print industry career in 1994 as a typesetter within DTMB Printing Services and has since held many different roles; including Printing Consultant, Prepress Supervisor, Printing Specialist and Printing Services Manager. These varied roles provided her with key insight on customer service, the offset and digital printing industry, budgeting, estimating and the use of metrics in driving decision-making. Hampton holds a BA in Journalism and Communication from Michigan State University.

Mr Vance works closely with all OCPS work locations, vendors, testing agencies and distribution providers to coordinate the printing and delivery of district wide testing materials and other printing needs. Joe Ferrara is the Director of Workflow Automation Practice -­‐ Production Professional Services for Ricoh USA, Inc. Joe joined Ricoh with over 14 of years experience in Production Printing at Excellus BlueCross BlueShield in Rochester, NY. At Excellus, Joe implemented complex solutions, focusing on cut sheet and continuous form production with integrated finishing solutions. In addition, he focused on sophisticated solutions surrounding marketing automation, insourcing of external print, and large corporate projects for regulated mailings. During his last year there, he helped Excellus automate and produce 330 million impressions of color and B&W print, and mail 28 million mail pieces. Joe was a Solution Architect of print and mail solutions including: RSA’s MISPrint, IPDSPrint, QDirect, WebCRD, Xerox’s Freeflow Platform, Canon Prisma Production, Elixir Tango, Ricoh Process Director, EPMS Enterprise 32 and Pitney Bowes Direct Connect. His hardware experience ranges from Canon VarioPrint 5160, 6250 and 2110, VarioStream 7650 Triplex CX, Lasermax Roll, IBIS SB3, Kodak Nexpress 2500 and 3300, Digimaster 300 and 150, Ricoh IP5000, and HP Z6100 WF. Over the last 5 years Joe has been helping customers streamline and implement workflow operations with a strong focus on delivering projects on time and on budget.

Bob is very active in the U.S. in-plant industry. He attends all the major in-plant conferences — this is his 25th IPMA conference — and has visited about 170 in-plant operations to keep abreast of managers’ concerns. Bob has coordinated numerous conferences and seminars for in-plants and has given scores of presentations to in-plant groups in the U.S., Canada, and Australia. Before joining IPI, he was a reporter with the Philadelphia Inquirer, and also a freelance travel writer for various newspapers.
