Scott’s career began in his home state of Maine, where he built and tuned engines before moving into national competition. He later became a part-time owner of a NASCAR Busch Series team with driver Ricky Craven, further solidifying his long-term commitment to the sport of racing. Since joining Hendrick Motorsports in 1996, Scott has grown from trackside engine tuner to a respected leader known for his technical expertise, collaborative approach, and dedication to continuous improvement in one of motorsports’ most demanding environments.

Scott Lampe serves as the President of Hendrick Technical Solutions, an ISO-9001 certified advanced manufacturing firm based in Concord, North Carolina. Under his leadership, the organization provides specialized manufacturing services—including CNC machining, fabricated metal structures, and electrical operations—to a diverse range of commercial and Department of Defense programs. Originally established as a division of the championship-winning Hendrick Motorsports, the company now operates as a stand-alone entity overseen by Lampe. With a career spanning over three decades, Lampe has held pivotal executive roles within the Hendrick organization and the private equity sector. He served two tenures as Chief Financial Officer for Hendrick Motorsports, where he was responsible for the financial stewardship of the most successful team in NASCAR history. His oversight extended beyond finance to include aviation, information technology, human resources, and the development of the organization’s 100-acre campus. Between his tenures at Hendrick, Lampe co-founded Rise Capital, where he helped scale Pamlico Air from a startup to a 600-employee enterprise prior to its acquisition. Lampe is deeply involved in North Carolina’s economic and educational governance. He has served as the Chairman of the Appalachian State University Board of Trustees and as a member of the University of North Carolina Board of Governors, where he chaired the Budget and Finance Committee overseeing a $9 billion system budget. Additionally, he has chaired the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation and currently serves as Chairman of the North Carolina Motorsports Association. A graduate of Appalachian State University, Lampe began his career in public accounting with Dixon Hughes. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and has been recognized as a CFO of the Year by the Charlotte Business Journal.

Angie Smith is one of the most recognized female riders in the National Hot Rod Association Pro Stock Motorcycle class. Known for her aggressive riding style, resilience, and technical involvement with her race program, she has built a respected career in one of drag racing’s most competitive categories. Early life and background Smith is a North Carolina native who developed a passion for motorsports early in life. Before reaching the national stage, she raced in sportsman and regional motorcycle drag racing events, building experience and earning respect in a male-dominated sport. In interviews, she has spoken about the importance of toughness, preparation, and earning credibility through performance. NHRA career Angie competes in NHRA’s Pro Stock Motorcycle division, riding primarily for the Matt Smith Racing team. She is married to fellow champion rider Matt Smith, and together they operate one of the top teams in the class. Career highlights include: First NHRA national event win (2013) — She defeated Matt Smith in an all-Smith final round at Epping, New Hampshire, marking a major milestone in her career. Second national event win (2020) — She captured another Wally trophy at the NHRA Finals in Las Vegas. 200 mph milestone (2020) — Angie became the first woman in NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle history to exceed 200 mph , running 200.89 mph in qualifying at the Texas FallNationals. Adversity and comeback In 2023, Smith suffered a high-speed accident during qualifying in St. Louis after becoming separated from her motorcycle in the shutdown area. Despite the crash, she returned to competition later that season after medical clearance, reinforcing her reputation as one of the toughest riders in the class. The following season, Ida made the bold move to the United States to pursue her dream at the highest level of the sport, joining JCM Racing and making an immediate impact with impressive performances against seasoned champions.
