David has led several award-winning projects since joining NHA in 2005, across a number of different sectors from Education to Life Sciences, Workplace and the Arts, New build and Retrofit. These include the multi-award winning UCL Student Centre in the heart of Bloomsbury, and more recently, the UCL School of Management, on the top floor of One Canada Square in Canary Wharf, and a new Travel Hub for AstraZeneca on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. David has a passion for environmental design and chairs our in-house Environment Group, responsible for NHA’s Environmental Strategy.

<p>Zane Putne is an Inclusive Environments&nbsp;Director at Noviun, specialising in education projects with a particular interest for special education needs learning environments. Zane leads Noviun&rsquo;s inclusive learning needs sector, overseeing all SEN projects within the practice. She is passionate to explore how designs can enhance pupils&rsquo; experience and believes that collaborative approach to learning environments achieve the best results. Zane leads practice&rsquo;s research group that undertakes studies of how our designs perform in use through post occupancy evaluations and exploring research into special educational needs.</p>

<p>Tracy Meller is an Architect and Senior Partner at RSHP. Since joining the practice in 1999 Tracy has led a number of large schemes on complex urban sites primarily in the residential and education sectors, including Mossbourne Community Academy, NEO Bankside and the latest building for the London School of Economics. In addition,Tracy is the partner responsible for HR, managing the internal staff development and resourcing for RSHP and leading the recruitment team. Tracy is a Trustee and Founder Member of the University Design Forum, a group that exists to promote high quality design in university campuses, buildings and estates, and has for several years been a judge on the RIBA Awards Group, The Architects Journal Awards, Civic Trust awards and most recently the AJ Women in Architecture roles. Tracy is an Honorary Professor of Architecture at Nottingham University and has lectured at a number of universities and schools, promoting the work of the practice and in particular working to attract more young women to the industry.&nbsp; In 2020 Tracy was awarded the Inaugural MJ Long Award for Excellence in Practice 2020 for her work on Centre Building, London School of Economics. The MJ Long Prize is open to all UK based female architects and is judged on an overall body of work with an emphasis on a project completed in the past 18 months.</p>

<p>Richard is an architect specialising in education. He is dedicated to creating and shaping facilities and campuses for the next generation of learners to thrive. He places great emphasis on engaging with students and staff to create holistic, award winning learning environments. Most notably Richard has been involved with multiple Cardiff University projects, including the multi-award winning Cardiff University Brain Research Imaging Centre (CUBRIC), Haydn Ellis Building, and Grange Pavilion. Richard firmly believes that the combination of Evidence Based Design and teamwork is the key to solving complex, real-world, problems.</p>

<p>Steve is a Chartered Landscape Architect and Associate Director at Bond Bryan with over twenty years&rsquo; experience working within the Construction Development and Landscape Industry.</p> <p>As a Landscape Architect, Steve has a great understanding of how to integrate landscape into an educational setting - being well versed in the art of circulation and space needs through the implementation of landscape strategy.</p> <p>During his time at Bond Bryan, as our Landscape Team&rsquo;s Lead, Steve has led his team in the successful design and delivery of landscape strategies and solutions for schools all across the UK.</p>

<p>Shane Cryer manages the education sector in the UK and Ireland for Swedish acoustic experts, Ecophon. After a career in the construction industry, having studied building and property surveying, he now concentrates on building acoustics and is an Associate Member of The Institute of Acoustics (AMIOA). Working closely with organisations such as The Association of Noise Consultants (ANC) and the RIBA, Shane has been promoting the new BB93: Acoustic Design of Schools standard via CPD seminars, conferences and articles in the trade press. Shane also manages several acoustic research projects around the UK.</p>

<p>Jon has expertise around the architectural history of and the conservation issues affecting twentieth century buildings - with a further specialism in post-war architectural history.&nbsp; An architectural historian by training, Jon has previously worked for the Twentieth Century Society, The Council for British Archaeology and the War Memorials Trust.&nbsp; Jon is an active member in the Working Party of DOCOMOMO UK which seeks to further understanding and debate internationally about modern architecture in the UK. He also teaches on the Cambridge MSt Building History programme on Modern Movement buildings. He is currently writing his first book on the architecture of Mervyn Seal ARIBA.</p>

<p>Alan is a Market Director for the Midlands, South West and Wales region and National Sector Director for Education. He has over 30 years&rsquo; experience within the design and construction industry, with an extensive knowledge of many market sectors and working with both private and public clients. His key experience is developing new and existing business and as a regional business leader. He firmly believes in local investment, improving communities through focussed social value and leaving a last legacy.</p>

<p>She has specialised in the education sector since 2006, and has worked on a diverse portfolio of education projects, to improve and provide new facilities for&nbsp;schools and higher education institutions. Her focus is on developing and delivering innovative solutions, and her extensive experience of leading teams in providing outstanding designs has included working direct to Trusts and Universities, with central government bodies, local authorities, major contractors and developers, as well as acting as client-side in technical advisory roles.</p> <p>Claire&rsquo;s creative approach to&nbsp;designing new buildings, masterplanning and repurposing existing facilities, delivers award winning design solutions through a collaborative process to meet&nbsp;the client&rsquo;s vision and budget that are responsive to their site and context. Her open and lateral thinking adds significant&nbsp;value to our HLM portfolio of projects, most recently on the new London Institute for Healthcare Engineering for King&rsquo;s College London, and Addington School in Reading, winner of Education project of the Year at the Offsite awards.</p>

Jon is ADP's Higher Education Director. Jon has advised 30+ university clients, delivering sector-leading facilities. His projects have won awards including the Guardian Higher Education 'Facility of the Year', the CUBO 'Student Project of the Year', S-Lab, SCONUL University Library of the Year, the Higher Education Academy, and several RIBA awards. Jon promotes knowledge share amongst universities, science and research institutions, and ADP's own technical teams. His role involves chairing best practice groups, and offering new ideas in space optimisation, project social value, teaching and learning environments, sustainability and wellbeing, student experience, and the smart campus of the future.
